WAGASA MAN

Wagasa Man is a nonfictional superhero(?) appearing at Washington DC. He had always the Japanese Traditional Umbrella up.

Lunch on the last day. The last meal in New Orleans is a seafood restaurant "Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar". After all, in New Orleans I only eat fish, crustaceans and reptiles.

John McEnroe is fighting the final game of some tournament.

I ordered oysters and local cuisine.

Everything is delicious. The raw oysters are light taste, but this shop is offered in large quantities of horseradish, so it does not matter so much as it can be arranged as I like.

McEnroe seemed to have lost. I'm sorry.

Now, New Orleans is in the middle of a festival called Mardi Gura. I came to Bourbon Street which is famous for entertainment district. There are bars, red-light shops and hotels on both sides. And after 22 o'clock the crazy party began.

On the balcony of the bar and the hotel, a large number of men and women holding a necklace made with beads lined up.

And, for people walking on Bourbon Street, they requested "Take off your clothes" and "Show boobs".

People on the street call for a necklace to the people on the balcony. It's just this. Young women and middle-aged women raised their shirts and showed their boobs. Then the audience of the balcony is thrilled with joy and throws necklaces into the road.

A young lady on the balcony gestures "Show me on her breasts".

After arriving in New Orleans, I almost eat seafood, except breakfast.

Although it seems to be pretty much, but they were not too heavy on the stomach, so it does not become "No thanks any more" like when I went to Germany.

When I went to Germany, I had a strong salted meat dish and beer, and I felt heavy in the stomach soon.

Well, today's dinner was the oyster bar called Royal House.

I read a paper that alcohol is bad for my body even a small amount, and I considerably refrain from taking alcohol.

This time, a cup of beer and this is the second cup of alcohol. On this trip, this is the second glass of alcohol.

And oyster.

To be honest, I did not really understand the difference in taste with other restaurants.

However, unlike oysters that are often found in North America, they are big and satisfied.

Oysters in New Orleans are not like an oyster that can be eaten at Akkeshi, I could not feel the rich flavor like milk. They were light and delicate, and I could enjoy them.

Oyster and Shrimp

Creole cuisine at this restaurant was spiced better than other restaurants and was easy for me to eat like an Indian cuisine.

New Orleans is famous as a city that never sleeps. So I decided to go to the city at night.

First I left the Courtyard hotel. Nobody was swimming, of course.

This area is quiet.

I found an art fair, so I looked around.

I heard that there was another square where we could see art, a little further away. I decided to go there too.

Is this a garbage or an art????

Arriving at the destination, the art fair was not held. Since I found pictures on the wall, I just enjoyed it.

I decided to return to the square just before.

A closed cafe.

Arrival.

I got one work of young artist and continued walking around.

It was very good time.

As I come to Louisiana, I must see the alligator. I reserved "Cajun Encounters Swamp Tours" which picked me up at the Courtyard Hotel by bus.

It was very thankful for me to pick up at the hotel, and after that I arrived at the site when I was on the bus for about an hour. On the way, I experienced a somewhat unusual scene. I saw the sea, both right and left.

In the guest house, a staff put a little alligator on his hand, and he was showing it to everyone. The staff was quite good at his job. He was kidding customers and pleased customers.

There were several stray cats under the guest house, there were two leopards to make fun of them.

Then, the tour started. About 20 customers rode a boat and wandered around the Mississippi River.

It was cold.

Egg of snail was born.

Then, what appeared were pigs which was not an alligator. It seems like wild pigs.

I thought that it was not pigs that I came to see, but other customers are delighted. Come on, pigs, they are.

The Mississippi River was muddy water.

People living in the river side.

A boat carrying hound dogs.

Watching closely, pigs were stacking behind the ship. Of course, they were dead. It seemed they had been hunted.

These are chickens.

Because there was no alligator, customers were delighted with chickens too. No, do not be fooled.

The tour ended soon.

After all, alligators are missing. At the end of tour, the boat went strange way, and I wonder where we were going. The boat's head pointed out "Oh, there is a bird over there !!".

Really??? I thought it was fake because it didn't move at all and the boat's behavior was strange.

The tour ended. After all, no alligator was found. I decided to take pictures of the stray cats that were clustered at the guest house.

This is the best shot.

I went to lunch at a popular seafood restaurant, OCEANA.

I ate the alligator, shrimp, catfish, oyster etc as usual.

I ate a lot of fried food, I did not get hungry for a long time after eating in New Orleans. It is lunch that I can eat the most luxuriously in a day. Oyster Rockefeller of this restaurant may be the most delicious around here.

Breakfast at New Orleans Courtyard Hotel.

Bake myself at a waffle making machine well placed in the US B & B. However, it is almost fully automatic.

After I finish eating breakfast, I went to the French market while watching the city.

Tasty seasoning such as Tabasco is extraordinarily fulfilling and it is interesting for me. Even though there are many people who are not good at spicy food in the U.S..

Because it was early in the morning, there are not many people in the market yet.

There are many shops being prepared. Official says it is open at 7 o'clock in the morning, but indeed it starts from around 10 o'clock.

I looked around quickly, but as the stores were just preparing, I decided to take a walk around the area.

I found the Hot Sauce Bar.

We can test all of them at our own risk, some of them are exactly spicy.

Jazz performances are taking place everywhere the city.

We can find Segway very frequently in tourist destinations in the U.S., and of course we can in New Orleans.

I went to the Gumbo Shop in French Quarter.

It was probably the first and the last glass of beer, because I decided to drink beer 1 cup per 50 thousand steps on this trip.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is like this. It was lively because somebody were playing a birthday party at the next table.

These seasonings are popular and are also being sold. It is not too spicy.

Dishes

It was a spicy curry made with crayfish and shrimp. Personally I was happier a bit more spicy, but customers like me should make it spicier with the seasonings.

About the crayfish, I felt "Shrimp is more delicious than cray fish". Because Shrimp is plumper than crayfish. But if I eat it a lot, I may like.

And about the alligator sausage, if you let me eat in a quiz format like "what do you think this is?", I may answer "pork? or chicken?"

Overall, I think that the food of the restaurant is good to the stomach and will fit Japanese.

By the way, I do not see any Japanese people. I thought that New Orleans is the first city in the U.S where Japanese are few so far.

I stayed at a courtyard hotel this time. It is located slightly off the French Quarter.

We can enjoy the pool. Of course the temperature is 10 degrees.

The room is moderately wide for the Japanese.

It is quite recommended. If we are too close to Bourbon Street, we can not sleep well in the mid night.
